The Cruise Price API allows you to search for sailings and retrieve current fare information, cabin prices, and detailed itineraries. It also provides access to recent fare drops across 10 different cruise lines.
The `cruise_id` is unique within a specific cruise line and market. When using the `cruise_id` obtained from `Search Cruises` or `Recent Price Drops` to query `Cruise Detail`, you must also provide the same company (cruise line) and locale (market) to ensure accurate retrieval of the sailing's details.
The `Cruise Detail` endpoint provides comprehensive information including the sailing title, ship name, departure date, number of nights, per-person fare in both market currency and euros, the nightly euro fare, detailed cabin prices, available promotions (if published by the cruise line), destinations, and a port-by-port itinerary.
The `Recent Price Drops` endpoint is designed for this purpose. It returns sailings where the fare has recently decreased, providing the previous price, the current price, the amount of the drop in euros, and the percentage of the fare reduction.
Developers can leverage this API to build applications that display real-time cruise pricing, compare fares across different sailings and cruise lines, alert users to price drops, and provide detailed itinerary information. This enables the creation of dynamic travel booking platforms and price tracking tools.
The `Search Cruises` endpoint returns a list of sailings with details like cruise_id, ship name, departure date, and cabin prices. The `Cruise Detail` endpoint provides comprehensive information about a specific sailing, including itinerary and fare details. The `Recent Price Drops` endpoint lists sailings with fare reductions, showing previous and current prices along with drop percentages.
Key fields include `cruise_id`, `company`, `departure_date`, `ship_name`, `cabin_prices_per_person`, and `destinations`. In `Recent Price Drops`, additional fields like `previous_price`, `current_price`, and `drop_pct` are included to highlight fare changes.
Each endpoint returns data in a structured JSON format. For `Search Cruises` and `Cruise Detail`, data is nested under a `data` object, while `Recent Price Drops` returns an array of sailing objects. Each sailing object contains relevant details, making it easy to parse and utilize.
Each endpoint allows optional filters such as cruise line, departure date, and destination. Users can customize their requests by including these parameters to narrow down search results based on specific criteria.
`Search Cruises` provides a list of available sailings, while `Cruise Detail` offers in-depth information about a specific sailing. `Recent Price Drops` focuses on fare changes, showing which sailings have seen price reductions and by how much.
Users can extract specific fields like `ship_name` and `departure_date` for display in applications. The `cruise_id` can be used to fetch detailed information from `Cruise Detail`, while `Recent Price Drops` can help users identify the best time to book based on fare reductions.
The data is sourced from various cruise lines, ensuring a comprehensive overview of available sailings and fare changes. The API aggregates this information to provide users with up-to-date and accurate cruise details.
Typical use cases include building travel booking platforms, creating fare comparison tools, and developing applications that alert users to price drops. This data helps users make informed decisions about cruise bookings and itineraries.
