The API offers several features including disposable email detection, typo detection for popular domains, email classification into categories such as disposable, free, corporate, or unknown, role account detection for generic addresses, domain age lookup via RDAP, and MX record validation to verify if the domain can receive email.
The API provides data on whether an email address is disposable, free, corporate, or unknown, suggests corrections for typos in email domains, identifies role accounts, checks the registration date of the domain, and validates the MX records to confirm email reception capability.
The API can be used for signup fraud prevention by filtering out disposable emails, improving lead quality by validating email addresses, and enhancing KYC (Know Your Customer) workflows by ensuring the authenticity of email addresses provided by users.
The core value proposition of the API lies in its ability to enhance data integrity and security by identifying and filtering out disposable and temporary email addresses, thereby reducing fraud and improving the quality of user data for businesses.
The API returns data in a structured format that includes fields such as 'email_status' (indicating if the email is disposable, free, corporate, or unknown), 'typo_suggestion' (for misspelled domains), 'role_account' (if applicable), 'domain_age' (registration date), and 'mx_validation' (to confirm email reception capability).
The Check Email endpoint returns comprehensive data about an email address, including its classification (disposable, free, corporate, or unknown), typo suggestions for misspelled domains, role account identification, domain age, and MX record validation to confirm if the domain can receive emails.
Key fields in the response include 'isDisposable', 'hasMxRecords', 'isValidFormat', 'riskScore', 'riskLevel', 'reason', 'suggestion', 'isRole', 'emailType', and 'domainAge', providing insights into the email's validity and classification.
The response data is structured in JSON format, with each field clearly labeled. For example, 'isDisposable' indicates if the email is temporary, while 'riskLevel' provides a safety assessment, allowing for easy parsing and integration into applications.
The Check Email endpoint accepts a single parameter: the email address to be checked. Users can customize their requests by providing different email addresses to assess their validity and classification.
Data accuracy is maintained through weekly updates from multiple open-source threat feeds, ensuring the database of over 195,000 disposable domains is current and reliable for effective email validation.
Typical use cases include preventing signup fraud by filtering out disposable emails, enhancing lead quality in marketing campaigns, and verifying user identities in KYC workflows to ensure the authenticity of provided email addresses.
Users can leverage the returned data to filter out disposable emails, improve user verification processes, and enhance data quality in their systems by analyzing risk scores and classifications to make informed decisions.
If the endpoint returns partial or empty results, users should verify the email format for correctness, consider resending the request, or implement fallback mechanisms to handle unverified emails, ensuring robust data handling in their applications.
