The GET Address Autocomplete endpoint returns complete address suggestions, the GET City Autocomplete provides city names, and the GET Autocomplete Zip Code suggests postal codes associated with cities. Each endpoint delivers relevant geographic data to enhance user input accuracy.
Each response includes an "Id" for tracking, a "Result" array containing suggestions, a "ClientSessionId" for session management, a "StatusCode" indicating success or failure, an "IsError" flag, and an "Errors" array for any issues encountered.
Users can customize requests by including parameters such as the search query (e.g., partial address, city name, or zip code) to refine results. Each endpoint accepts a query string that specifies the desired data type.
The response data is structured in JSON format, with a clear hierarchy. The "Result" field contains an array of suggestions, while other fields provide metadata about the request's status and any errors, allowing for easy parsing and integration.
The API sources its data from reliable geographic databases and public records, ensuring comprehensive coverage of U.S. addresses, cities, and postal codes. Regular updates and validations help maintain data accuracy and relevance.
Common use cases include enhancing user experience in forms with address autocomplete, validating shipping addresses, and enriching databases with accurate location data. The API is suitable for e-commerce, logistics, and mobile applications.
Users can leverage the "Result" array to display suggestions in real-time as users type. The standardized format allows for easy integration into forms, while the "StatusCode" and "IsError" fields help manage error handling and user feedback.
If the API returns partial or empty results, users should implement fallback mechanisms, such as prompting users to refine their input or providing alternative suggestions. Monitoring the "IsError" flag can also guide error handling strategies.
