You can filter the data by parameters such as year, allowing you to query specific insights and trends related to corruption perceptions over time.
The API is ideal for researchers, policy-makers, and developers who are looking to promote transparency and gain detailed insights into global corruption perception indices.
The Corruption Index API provides access to data about corruption perceptions by country, including country names, corruption scores, and historical trends. Developers can query specific insights filtered by parameters such as year to retrieve precise data.
The "countries with corruption data" endpoint returns a list of countries, while the "years available" endpoint provides a list of years for which data is available. The "get historical corruption index data" endpoint returns detailed corruption perception scores for a specified country and year.
Key fields include "countries" in the countries endpoint, "years" in the years endpoint, and "country," "year," and "corruption_perception_index" in the historical data endpoint, providing essential information for analysis.
Response data is structured in JSON format. Each endpoint returns an object containing relevant arrays or key-value pairs, making it easy to parse and utilize in applications.
The historical data endpoint requires two parameters: "country" (the name of the country) and "year" (the specific year for which you want the corruption index). Both parameters must match the available data from the respective endpoints.
The "years available" endpoint provides a comprehensive list of years for which corruption perception data is recorded, allowing users to understand the temporal scope of the dataset.
Users can analyze trends in corruption perceptions over time by comparing scores across different years and countries, enabling informed decision-making and research on corruption issues.
Typical use cases include academic research on corruption trends, policy analysis for governance improvements, and app development for transparency initiatives, leveraging the corruption perception data for various insights.
The Corruption Index API sources its data from reliable organizations that specialize in corruption perception metrics, ensuring high-quality and accurate information for users.
