About the API:
A permanent account number (PAN) is a ten-character alphanumeric identifier, issued in the form of a laminated "PAN card", by the Indian Income Tax Department, to any "person" who applies for it or to whom the department allots the number without an application. It can also be obtained in the form of a PDF file.
This API will recognize the information located on the PAN card and will deliver it to you.
Pass the PAN Card image URL and receive a JSON with all the data contained in the card.
This API is ideal for those companies that need to extract information from given PAN cards. Be able to store the information in a structured way and use it the way you want.
Besides API call limitations per month:
Free Plan: 20 requests per hour.
Extracts data from PAN Cards instantly and accurately.
Use the get call on the left and pass the request id to fetch API call results.

The POST Create Job endpoint returns a JSON object containing extracted data from the PAN card, including fields like name, date of birth, father's name, and PAN number. The GET Get Request endpoint returns the status of the extraction job along with the same structured data once the job is completed.
Key fields in the response include "name_on_card," "id_number," "date_of_birth," "fathers_name," and "pan_type." These fields provide essential information extracted from the PAN card.
The response data is organized in a JSON format, with a main object containing metadata about the job (like "request_id" and "status") and a nested "result" object that holds the extracted data.
The POST Create Job endpoint extracts personal identification details from PAN cards, while the GET Get Request endpoint provides the status of the extraction job and the extracted data once available.
Users can customize their requests by providing specific PAN card image URLs in the POST Create Job endpoint. This allows for targeted extraction based on the provided image.
"is_scanned" indicates whether the PAN card was scanned or not, "minor" denotes if the individual is a minor, and "completed_at" shows when the extraction job finished. These fields help users understand the context of the extracted data.
Data accuracy is maintained through advanced optical character recognition (OCR) technology, which ensures precise extraction from the PAN card images. Regular updates and quality checks are implemented to enhance performance.
Typical use cases include identity verification for financial services, customer onboarding processes, and data entry automation, where accurate extraction of PAN card information is crucial for compliance and record-keeping.
To obtain your API key, you first need to sign in to your account and subscribe to the API you want to use. Once subscribed, go to your Profile, open the Subscription section, and select the specific API. Your API key will be available there and can be used to authenticate your requests.
You can’t switch APIs during the free trial. If you subscribe to a different API, your trial will end and the new subscription will start as a paid plan.
If you don’t cancel before the 7th day, your free trial will end automatically and your subscription will switch to a paid plan under the same plan you originally subscribed to, meaning you will be charged and gain access to the API calls included in that plan.
The free trial ends when you reach 50 API requests or after 7 days, whichever comes first.
