Overview

The VISA Requirements Information API is a digital tool designed to provide comprehensive, up-to-date information on entry requirements for different countries based on the traveler's nationality. It allows developers, travel agencies, tourism platforms, and individual users to quickly and systematically check what type of authorization is required to visit a particular country. This includes information on traditional visas, electronic visas (eVisas), visas on arrival, and visa exemption cases.

Access to the API provides lists of countries with clear and organized information, facilitating international travel planning and reducing the uncertainty that often exists regarding immigration procedures. For example, a user can check whether a specific nationality requires a visa for a particular destination or whether they can enter without a visa for a certain period. The API also details the countries where it is possible to obtain a visa upon arrival, as well as those that require a completely digital procedure such as the eVisa.

One of the main benefits of this API is the standardization of information. The data is presented in JSON format, allowing it to be easily integrated into web applications, mobile apps, or internal travel agency systems. This avoids the need to consult multiple scattered sources, which may be outdated or contradictory, thus providing a reliable and centralized reference.

In addition, the API is useful both for individual travelers who want to plan their itineraries with confidence and for companies seeking to optimize booking and travel advisory processes. It can be combined with other services, such as flight information, insurance, or travel alerts, creating comprehensive solutions for the tourism industry.

In short, the VISA Requirements Information API simplifies understanding international travel requirements by providing accurate and up-to-date data on visas, eVisas, visas on arrival, and visa exemptions. Its use improves travel planning, user experience, and the efficiency of travel information systems globally.

The API returns data in JSON format, which is structured as key-value pairs. For example, the "GET Requirements" endpoint organizes data by nationality, with each nationality containing arrays for different visa types.

The "GET Countries Available" endpoint provides a list of countries, while the "GET Requirements" endpoint offers comprehensive visa information based on nationality, including visa requirements, eVisas, and visa exemptions.

The response data is organized hierarchically. For "GET Requirements," the nationality is the primary key, with arrays detailing visa types. This structure allows users to easily access specific visa information for each nationality.

The data is sourced from official immigration and visa authorities, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Regular updates and checks are conducted to maintain data quality and reflect current visa regulations.

Typical use cases include travel planning for individuals, integration into travel booking systems, and providing visa advisory services for travel agencies. The API helps users quickly determine visa requirements for various nationalities.

Users can customize requests by specifying the nationality in the "GET Requirements" endpoint. This allows them to retrieve tailored visa information relevant to their specific travel needs.

Prices are determined by a recurring monthly or yearly subscription, depending on the chosen plan.
API calls are deducted from your plan based on successful requests. Each plan comes with a specific number of calls that you can make per month. Only successful calls, indicated by a Status 200 response, will be counted against your total. This ensures that failed or incomplete requests do not impact your monthly quota.
Zyla API Hub works on a recurring monthly subscription system. Your billing cycle will start the day you purchase one of the paid plans, and it will renew the same day of the next month. So be aware to cancel your subscription beforehand if you want to avoid future charges.
To upgrade your current subscription plan, simply go to the pricing page of the API and select the plan you want to upgrade to. The upgrade will be instant, allowing you to immediately enjoy the features of the new plan. Please note that any remaining calls from your previous plan will not be carried over to the new plan, so be aware of this when upgrading. You will be charged the full amount of the new plan.
To check how many API calls you have left for the current month, refer to the 'X-Zyla-API-Calls-Monthly-Remaining' field in the response header. For example, if your plan allows 1,000 requests per month and you've used 100, this field in the response header will indicate 900 remaining calls.

You can monitor your API usage through the response headers included with every request:

x-zyla-api-calls-monthly-used: Shows the total number of API requests you have used during the current billing period.
x-zyla-api-calls-monthly-remaining: Shows the number of API requests you have remaining for the current billing period.

The 'X-Zyla-RateLimit-Reset' header shows the number of seconds until your rate limit resets. This tells you when your request count will start fresh. For example, if it displays 3,600, it means 3,600 seconds are left until the limit resets.
