The API returns current time or any specified date in various IANA time zones, including UTC offset, weekday, Unix time, and local time. It also provides converted times for multiple time zones simultaneously.
Key fields in the response include "utc" (current UTC time), "unix" (Unix timestamp), "timezone" (IANA time zone), "local" (local time), "weekday" (day of the week), "utcOffset" (offset from UTC), and "converted" (array of converted times for other time zones).
The endpoint accepts parameters such as "date" (to specify a date), "timezone" (to select the IANA time zone), and "convertTo" (to list additional time zones for conversion). Users can customize requests by specifying these parameters.
The response data is structured in a JSON format. It includes a main object with current time details and a "converted" array that lists the local times for specified time zones, each containing its own "timezone," "local," "weekday," and "utcOffset."
Typical use cases include scheduling international meetings, displaying local times for users in different regions, and converting timestamps for applications that require time zone awareness, such as travel or event planning apps.
Data accuracy is maintained by using reliable sources for time zone information, including IANA time zone databases. Regular updates ensure that changes in time zones, such as daylight saving adjustments, are reflected in the API.
The endpoint provides information on current time, specific dates, UTC offsets, weekdays, and the ability to convert times across multiple IANA time zones, making it versatile for various applications.
Users can utilize the returned data by extracting the "local" time for their specific time zone and the "converted" times for other regions. This allows for easy comparison and scheduling across different time zones.
