The BIN Lookup and IP Verification API enables the verification of card details for online transactions while providing seamless BIN (Bank Identification Number) lookup and built-in IP address verification.
The BIN Lookup endpoint returns details about a Bank Identification Number, including card type, brand, issuing bank, and country information. The IP Lookup endpoint provides data on geographical location, ISP, timezone, and associated domain information for a specific IP address.
For the BIN Lookup, key fields include "scheme," "brand," "bank," and "country." For the IP Lookup, important fields are "query," "country," "city," "isp," and "timezone." These fields help identify card legitimacy and user location.
The response data is structured in a JSON format. Each endpoint returns a "success" status, followed by a "data" object containing relevant information. If there’s an error, it will be indicated in the "error" field, ensuring clarity in the response.
The BIN Lookup provides information about the card issuer, type, and risk indicators. The IP Lookup offers geographical data, ISP details, and timezone information. This data is essential for fraud detection and user analytics.
Users can customize requests by specifying the BIN for the BIN Lookup or the IP address for the IP Lookup. This allows for targeted queries to retrieve specific information relevant to their needs.
The data is sourced from financial institutions for BIN information and from IP registries and ISPs for IP data. This ensures that the information is reliable and up-to-date, supporting accurate transaction verification and geolocation services.
Typical use cases include fraud detection in e-commerce, verifying card legitimacy before processing transactions, and tailoring content based on user location. Businesses can enhance user experience and security by leveraging this data effectively.
Users can analyze the returned data to assess transaction risks, customize payment options, and improve user targeting based on location. For example, knowing the card type can help merchants offer suitable payment methods, while IP data can inform content localization strategies.
