Extract structured data from passports and ID documents with OCR, MRZ parsing, field validation, and JSON output. Fast API for onboarding, travel, hospitality, and car rental
The Misfora OCR API returns structured data extracted from passport and ID images. The API can extract first name, last name, date of birth, nationality, gender, document number, issuing country, expiry date, and other fields. It also returns MRZ data, field validation results, warnings, review information, and processing data in JSON format
The Misfora OCR API returns the extracted information as structured JSON. The response includes a document object with the extracted fields, validation results for individual fields, warnings and review recommendations, plus metadata such as processing time and API version
The response data is organized into three main sections: "success" status, "document" details, and "validation" results. Additionally, "warnings" and "meta" information about processing time and API version are provided.
Misfora can extract both personal and document information from supported passports and identity documents. Available fields include names, date of birth, nationality, gender, document number, issuing country, expiry date, and document type. The API also provides MRZ parsing, field validation, document-expiration checks, warnings, and review
The Scan Document endpoint accepts passport and identity-document images in JPEG, PNG, and HEIC formats. The document is automatically analyzed to detect the supported document type, extract the available fields and MRZ data, and return the result as structured JSON
Misfora improves document data reliability by combining OCR with MRZ parsing and field-level validation. MRZ checksums are validated automatically, and extracted fields are checked for consistency and validity. The API can also flag expired documents and return warnings or a review recommendation when additional verification may be needed
Typical use cases include hotel guest registration, property-management software, travel applications, car-rental platforms, customer onboarding, identity-document data entry, and other applications that need to convert passport or ID document images into structured customer data
Users can utilize the returned data by integrating it into their applications for automated data entry, validation, and processing workflows, ensuring efficient handling of identity documents in various business scenarios.
