Convert up to 1,000 characters of text into natural speech in one call and get an MP3 download link. Multilingual v2, Flash v2.5 and Turbo v2.5 voice models, many languages.

Multilingual Text to Speech API FAQs

Call Text to Speech with the text, a voice id and a model id. The request waits until the audio is ready, usually 10 to 40 seconds, and returns a link to the finished MP3 file.

Up to 1,000 characters per call. For a longer text, convert it in parts of up to 1,000 characters, then pass the ids of the parts in reading order to Merge Speech Parts. You get one MP3 that joins all parts with a short pause between them, up to 250 parts.

Any public voice from the voice library. Use Search Voices to find voices by name, language, gender, age or accent, then pass the voice id as voiceId. Cloned and private voices are not supported.

Every language the chosen model supports. The language is detected from the text, or you can set it with the language parameter using an ISO 639-1 code such as en, es or de.

The audioUrl works for 7 days and needs no API key, so you can give it directly to a browser, an audio player or another service. Download the file if you need to keep it longer.

The audio was not ready within about 50 seconds. The response has an id: call Get Speech Result with that id a few seconds later to get the same response with the MP3 link.

Errors such as a text over 1,000 characters, an unknown voice or a refused text return an error code instead of 200, and you can fix the request and send it again.

Multilingual v2 (eleven_multilingual_v2), Flash v2.5 (eleven_flash_v2_5) and Turbo v2.5 (eleven_turbo_v2_5). The v3, v4 and v4 Turbo models are in our separate "Expressive Text to Speech API".

Each endpoint returns JSON data. For example, the Get Speech Result endpoint provides details about the speech job, including status, audio link, duration, and voice model used. The Search Voices endpoint returns a list of available voices with attributes like name, language, and accent.

Key fields include "id" (task identifier), "status" (job completion status), "audioUrl" (link to the audio file), "durationSec" (length of audio in seconds), and "voiceName" (name of the voice used). These fields help users track and utilize the generated audio.

Parameters vary by endpoint. For Text to Speech, you can specify "text" (the input text), "voiceId" (chosen voice), and "modelId" (voice model). In Search Voices, you can filter by "name," "language," "gender," "age," and "accent" to customize your search.

Response data is structured in JSON format, with nested objects for clarity. For instance, the Search Voices response includes an "items" array containing voice objects, each with attributes like "id," "name," and "languages," making it easy to parse and utilize.

The Get Speech Result endpoint provides job status, audio link, and duration. The Search Voices endpoint offers details about available voices, including language support and audio previews. The Text to Speech endpoint returns the audio file link and job details.

Typical use cases include creating audio content for e-learning, generating voiceovers for videos, and developing applications that require text-to-speech functionality. Users can merge multiple audio parts for longer texts, enhancing user experience in various applications.

Users can utilize the "audioUrl" to play or download the generated audio. The "status" field helps track job completion, while "durationSec" informs about the audio length. For voice selection, users can refer to the "voiceName" and "languages" fields for appropriate choices.

Data accuracy is maintained through the use of advanced voice models and regular updates to the voice library. The API ensures that the voices are tested for quality and clarity, providing users with reliable and natural-sounding speech outputs.

Prices are determined by a recurring monthly or yearly subscription, depending on the chosen plan.
API calls are deducted from your plan based on successful requests. Each plan comes with a specific number of calls that you can make per month. Only successful calls, indicated by a Status 200 response, will be counted against your total. This ensures that failed or incomplete requests do not impact your monthly quota.
Zyla API Hub works on a recurring monthly subscription system. Your billing cycle will start the day you purchase one of the paid plans, and it will renew the same day of the next month. So be aware to cancel your subscription beforehand if you want to avoid future charges.
To upgrade your current subscription plan, simply go to the pricing page of the API and select the plan you want to upgrade to. The upgrade will be instant, allowing you to immediately enjoy the features of the new plan. Please note that any remaining calls from your previous plan will not be carried over to the new plan, so be aware of this when upgrading. You will be charged the full amount of the new plan.
To check how many API calls you have left for the current month, refer to the 'X-Zyla-API-Calls-Monthly-Remaining' field in the response header. For example, if your plan allows 1,000 requests per month and you've used 100, this field in the response header will indicate 900 remaining calls.

You can monitor your API usage through the response headers included with every request:

x-zyla-api-calls-monthly-used: Shows the total number of API requests you have used during the current billing period.
x-zyla-api-calls-monthly-remaining: Shows the number of API requests you have remaining for the current billing period.

The 'X-Zyla-RateLimit-Reset' header shows the number of seconds until your rate limit resets. This tells you when your request count will start fresh. For example, if it displays 3,600, it means 3,600 seconds are left until the limit resets.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Simply go to the Pricing section of the API you're subscribed to and click the "Unsubscribe" button.
