The API delivers real-time data on a vessel's current position, status, and other key details. It provides the vessel's MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) and IMO (International Maritime Organization) number for unique identification. Exact latitude and longitude coordinates are included, along with a timestamp indicating when the data was recorded.
The API also offers essential navigational information such as the vessel's course (travel direction), speed (in knots), heading (orientation), and navigation status (e.g., at anchor or underway). To support easy identification, the vessel’s name and callsign are returned.
Additionally, the API details the ship’s dimensions — including length (A), breadth (B), height (C), and draught (how deep the vessel sits in the water). It also provides information about the vessel's destination port, accompanied by the global LOCODE (location code) for accurate port identification.
To use this endpoint you must indicate an IMO and MSSI in the parameter.

The Position Data endpoint returns real-time information about a vessel's location, including its latitude, longitude, speed, course, heading, navigation status, and identification details such as MMSI and IMO numbers.
Key fields in the response include vessel name, MMSI, IMO, latitude, longitude, speed (in knots), course, heading, navigation status, destination port, and vessel dimensions (length, breadth, height, draught).
The response data is structured in a JSON format, with each key representing a specific attribute of the vessel. For example, "latitude" and "longitude" provide the vessel's position, while "speed" and "course" detail its movement.
The Position Data endpoint requires two parameters: IMO (International Maritime Organization number) and MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity). These parameters uniquely identify the vessel for which data is requested.
Typical use cases include maritime navigation, fleet management, safety monitoring, and logistics planning. Users can track vessel movements, assess operational status, and optimize routing based on real-time data.
Data accuracy is maintained through integration with reliable maritime tracking systems and regular updates from various maritime authorities. Quality checks are implemented to ensure the integrity of the information provided.
Users can utilize the returned data for real-time tracking, route optimization, and operational analysis. For instance, by monitoring a vessel's speed and course, users can make informed decisions about scheduling and resource allocation.
The Position Data endpoint provides information on vessel location, speed, course, heading, navigation status, identification details (MMSI, IMO), and destination port, including its global LOCODE for precise identification.
