API description

About the API:

Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes are four-digit numerical codes assigned by the U.S. government to business establishments to identify the primary business of the establishment.

Each and every company will have a primary SIC code. This number indicates a company's primary line of business. What determines a company's primary SIC code is the code definition that generates the highest revenue for that company at a specific location in the past year.

This API will allow you to lookup for businesses by their SIC code. Also, you will be able to retrieve the company's SIC and NAICS code by searching by company name.

What this API receives and what your API provides (input/output)?

This API will receive a known SIC code, and it will deliver a list of the top 100 companies that are matched to that code. This means that you will be receiving the top companies related to that business model.

Also, receive additional information like the NAICS code.

Also, be able to retrieve additional information like the state location of the company, revenue volume, and years on the market.

What are the most common uses cases of this API?

This API is ideal to create reports based on SIC codes. Be able to retrieve the most relevant companies that are related to a given SIC code.

This will allow you to create a better segmentation of the businesses. Be able to understand what are the main activities that these companies are into.
